Method
We searched Google for saas pricing statistics, saas price increase statistics and saas pricing changes, read about 40 pages, and traced each number to the company or survey that produced it. Every outside number was checked against the producer's page on September 24, 2026. Most producers sell pricing, billing or SaaS spend software (Zylo, Vertice, Maxio, Metronome, Paddle, PricingSaaS) and measure their own customers or survey their own audiences, so read the numbers as those samples, not as all SaaS. The Cruxy CEO survey is quoted from a news report because we could not find Cruxy's own page. List price changes (Salesforce, Microsoft) come from the vendors' announcements. We found no research papers with usable numbers on SaaS pricing. The CompetitorBase numbers come from our own count: on September 24, 2026 we rendered the pricing pages of 67 SaaS products, kept the 62 that loaded, and matched their text for prices, free plans, sales-led tiers and 'save X%' offers.
CompetitorBase numbers new on this page:
- 56 of 62 SaaS pricing pages we loaded on September 24, 2026 (90.3%) showed at least one price. Klue, Crayon, Outreach, Salesloft and Rippling showed none and ask buyers to talk to sales. We rendered the pricing page of 67 SaaS products in headless Chrome (well-known B2B tools plus the competitor monitoring tools CompetitorBase compares) and kept the 62 that loaded past a bot wall. A page counts when it shows an amount in dollars, euros or pounds above zero. 1Password's /pricing page also showed only quote buttons.
- 45 of the 62 pricing pages (72.6%) list a free plan. A page counts when it shows a $0 (or €0, £0) plan or names a free plan, free tier or free-forever plan. Free trials alone do not count.
- 52 of the 62 pages (83.9%) show prices and also send larger buyers to sales, with a contact-sales, demo or custom-pricing tier. Pages with a price (as in the first count) that also contain contact sales, talk to sales, custom pricing, get a quote, book or request a demo, or a tier priced as Custom.
- On the 26 pages that print a 'save X%' offer, the median figure is 22%, with a range of 15% to 65%. Largest 'save X%' figure on each page. Pages that word the saving another way (for example '20% off') are not in this count.
